CREATION CARE TEAM PROJECT–
Denim & Shoe Reycyling
Now that the holidays are over and spring will be here (eventually), lets clean out those closets and help others and the planet! The Creation Care Team at Christ Our Light will be starting a recycling project to collect denim and shoes. Let’s keep these items OUT of the landfill!
Bring in your shoes and denim and deposit in the main entrance of church in the tall boxes. We will organize and send them off free of charge during Lent. Thank you!
- RECYCLE DENIM
- Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ program transforms old denim into new products such as pet bed inserts, industrial mattresses, and more. Please make sure jeans are at least 90% cotton and free of hangers, tags, stickers or labels attached.
- RECYCLE SHOES
- Soles4Souls helps get new shoes to people in crisis situations, freeing up financial resources they can use toward other needs; Helps entrepreneurs start and grow businesses that sell donated shoes and clothing; And helps to get new athletic shoes to children who are experiencing homelessness, eliminating a barrier to educational and extracurricular opportunities. We will accept all styles and sizes of new or gently warn shoes (pairs and single shoes collected).
