Just as bodies and minds grow, Catholics believe that the soul also needs to grow in the life of grace. The sacrament of Confirmation builds on the sacraments of Baptism, Penance, and Holy Communion, completing the process of initiation into the Catholic community.
The celebration of Confirmation is traditionally celebrated in the Spring of eleventh grade (twelfth grade is also welcome). Formal instruction in the faith is recommended. Students participate in the preparation provided for by the Religious Education Staff. This fall, questions regarding the preparation of this sacrament for high school juniors and seniors in the religious education program and parishioners of Christ Our Light Catholic Parish can be directed to Fr. Kevin Anderson.
Candidates will participate with the FIRE program (Ignite Sundays), and special Confirmation sessions held 11:30AM–1PM on the following dates: February 26, March 5, March 12, March 19, March 26, and April 2. In the event of an absence, make-up work is required. Select the dates listed in this paragraph for the correponding make-up work for the topic covered. Hard copies can be turned in to Fr. KEvin or the parish office.
